Our book for November is “Before We Were Yours”
Author: Lisa Wingate
A privileged lawyer uncovers a dark history of stolen children and illegal adoptions, when she meets an elderly woman, revealing a shocking scandal from Memphis's past that connects 2 families.
Based on one of America’s most notorious real-life scandals –in which Georgia Tann, director of a Memphis-based adoption organization, kidnapped and sold poor children to wealthy families all over the country.
Lisa Wingates' riveting, wrenching, and ultimately uplifting tale, reminds us how even though the paths we take can lead to many places, the heart never forgets where we belong.
Available at Chronicles Book Store for $12 You can also find the audiobook on Audible (with membership).

“Delighting in God’s Wisdom, A study on the Book of Proverbs”.
Wisdom. We need it. We want it - but often look for it in all the wrong places. Moment by moment our life circumstances dictate the need for wisdom. From simple everyday choices to the more complex and life changing; we need wisdom for successful decision-making. Where do we find this wisdom? Solomon will tell us in the book of Proverbs that wisdom begins with the fear of God and all wisdom in found in Him. The majority of Proverbs was written by Solomon, “the wisest man on earth. Proverbs is the “how to” for life and will lead you to the heart of God and His wisdom.

Meeting the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays in the Parlor (Unless otherwise notified )
2nd Tuesday lead by Melanie Busby
4th Tuesday lead by Heather Wells
Ladies, how do you start you day? Do you jump out of bed, ready to go, go, go and tackle the” to do” list for the day, (after your morning coffee, of course) or do you spend a few minutes resting a while longer, not hitting the snooze button, but enjoying the first moments of the day, in the presence of the Lord Almighty? If we ask the Holy Spirit for the words and guidance for our day, the worries of the day start to fade away. “Open wide your mouth and I will fill it” Psalm 81:10
Sing a Hymn of praise, not necessarily out loud, and let the words penetrate your spirit, as you offer up a sweet fragrance to the Lord. Allow Him to equip you with what you need to face this day. Ask Him to keep you from the snares of this world.” LORD, that we may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that i may fear you”, Psalm 86:11
How amazing is it that the Lord of Creation would desire a few minutes with us, his daughters, sinners all of us, yes, yet it was His Passion that brought heaven down to cleanse us and make us holy, His Sanctified Bride. Sit with the Lord, so you are ready to face the day, surrounded with His love, armed with His truth, and filled with gratitude. These precious moments are a gift, time spent in His presence, open it and savor every moment in God’s lovely dwelling place.
God Bless,
Renee Miller
