Five years after her husband’s death, Maggie Reynolds is finally ready for love again-until the past shows up in the form of someone who may or may not be the late husband she thought her and her daughter, Zoey, had lost. Ethan’s brother Josh has been there for Maggie and Zoey, since the death of his brother. Unbeknownst to Maggie, Josh had been in love with Maggie since they first met, before Ethan won her heart.

When she and Zoey go back to Seabrook, she runs into a man who could be Ethan’s twin. This stirs up impossible questions and sends Josh and her on a quest to discover the man’s true identity. But their search ends up raising more questions than answers- and soon Maggie is not sure she wants those answers at all! ***You did not have to finish the book or even read it to come and enjoy the fellowship, please just come.

Tuesday evening: Gail Berger, 6:30 PM, meets in the Conference Room, on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month

The ladies are currently studying, line by line in Philippians.

Wednesday Morning: Renee Miller, 9:30-12:00, 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month, in the Parlor.

We just finished our study “David’s Delight, Our Delight”. It was such an insightful, encouraging study! There are copies of the study in Chronicles Book Store for $5.00.

Our next study will start this month, “Delighting in God’s Wisdom, A study on the Book of Proverbs”.
Wisdom. We need it. We want it - but often look for it in all the wrong places. Moment by moment our life circumstances dictate the need for wisdom. From simple everyday choices to the more complex and life changing; we need wisdom for successful decision-making. Where do we find this wisdom? Solomon will tell us in the book of Proverbs that wisdom begins with the fear of God and all wisdom in found in Him. The majority of Proverbs was written by Solomon, “the wisest man on earth. Proverbs is the “how to” for life and will lead you to the heart of God and His wisdom.  Woven into the study are examples from women in the Bible who were both wise and unwise. The book is available in Chronicles Book Store for $5.00

Mother’s Group: for mothers with children through 12th grade: Heather Wells meets in the parlor on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday evenings at 6:00.

The women are continuing to study from the book “Sweeter Than Honey”, A Bible Study on Enjoying God in His Word.  Gretchen Saffles and Maggie Combs teach the value of studying God’s Word while providing the tools to apply it to your life. Discover 3 principles that can be applied every time you open the Bible.

Happy 250th America! As we celebrate the freedom of our country from Great Britain and the signing of the Deceleration of Independence, let us remember freedom isn’t free, there is a cost. There were the lives lost in the battles and skirmishes in the Revolutionary War, which led to our freedom as a nation. The founding fathers remembered the tyranny and bondage they suffered under the yoke of Great Britain and oppression of the church. They were not allowed to live and practice life the way God intended as written in His Word. On July 2nd”, the Second Continental Congress voted to approve The Lee Resolution, declaring the Thirteen Colonies were “free and independent States, effectively severing their political ties with Great Britain.  Declaration of Independence was then written, adopted and signed on July 4th, 1776.  They voted and July 4th became the day our nation celebrated its freedom and deliverance from Great Britain.

Just as Independence Day celebrates freedom let us remember True Freedom comes from Christ Jesus! Freedom, yes freedom, freedom to choose, freedom to live as we want to, to follow Christ or follow the ways of sin and evil. We were given free will in the garden and man chose to follow his ways and not God’s loving ways with His guidance and presence and blessings. We were born into a life of bondage and slavery to sin because of Adam and Eve’s decision for the independence they thought they wanted from God.  The cost, the ultimate sacrifice Jesus Christ paid for us to receive back our spiritual freedom.  Jesus’ sacrifice paid it all, Praise the Lord ! As the Bible says, “So if the Son set you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36

“It is for freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery” Galatians 5 :1

“Therefore, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death”             Romans 8:1-2

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit is, there is freedom” 2 Corinthians 3:17

“You have been set free from sin and become slaves to righteousness” Romans 6:18

Liberty is a beautiful gift from God that allows us to be free from sin and live joyfully. It is like a big warm hug from our Savior who wants us to experience life abundantly.  We are invited to embrace this gift wholeheartedly. This gift of freedom does come with responsibilities, to grow, pray, learn, spend time with and emulate our Savior. As we enjoy and live our lives in the light of this freedom, which Christ died to give us freely, let us walk with the Spirit of God as He leads us away from the bondage of sin and toward the fullness of joy and peace. Freedom, yes freedom, how wonderful is our God, who before the creation of the world, had a plan to give us freedom in His Son Jesus Christ. Let us share this hope of this freedom, shine your light into this dark world,  just like the fireworks illuminate the dark night sky we see during the 4th of July celebrations!  All honor, praise and glory be to God!

God Bless,

Renee Miller
